So this morning, my son thought it would be fun to repeat every word I said as I was saying it. It was quite cute. He hung on a long time though. Longer than I ever did as a child. I?Tm telling you if this kid wasn?Tt a boy, I?Td swear he was my clone. And as I?Tve said many times before, his behavior is payback for my behavior when I was his age.

So I?Tm saying things like, ?oPut your shoes on hon.? He says, ?oPut your shoes on hon.? With his little sheepish grin. So I say ?oHa ha ha, you?Tre so funny!? He goes, ?oHa ha ha, you?Tre so funny!? This Pete and Repeat routine goes on for about 5 minutes before I decide I could make it work in my favor by boosting my fragile ego. I declare, ?oI have the most wonderful mommy.? Since he?Ts 5 and not so clever as me, he repeats verbatim, ?oI have the most wonderful mommy.? Yippee! I was winning this game. Needing to feed that ego of mine even more, I say, ?oMy mommy is the smartest most beautiful mommy in the whole wide world!? Sure enough, my dear boy did not disappoint. But I think he did catch on to my shenanigans because he giggled the entire time he was repeating what I said.

While I was preparing another in praise of mommy statement for him to ape, he walked away. Apparently he was bored with me. I liked his little game a little too much for his taste. Bummer. Oh well?you know what they say, ?oImitation is the sincerest form of flattery.?
