Tommy Can You Hear Me?
I’ve just discovered that my 5 year old son loves The Who. How cool is that? Sorry Raffi. Love ya, but you are no Pete Townsend and company. We finally have a vehicle that was made in the current millennium, and it includes a CD player. Yeah! My fingers were really getting a workout flipping through radio stations for the last five years. Now my boys are a captive audience to my musical tastes. And I love Tommy by The Who. So my boys are going to be hearing a lot of Tommy among other things.
So yesterday when we left for an errand, Tommy was in the CD player, and my son starts tapping and bopping his head and humming to the Overture. I had to do a double take. Soon we were all moving our heads to the music (including my 3 year old), but he constantly does that anyway. And I taught my 5 year old how to air drum to Keith Moon’s drumming. (You basically act like a crazy person). It was one fun car ride. And my son told me it was his favorite song. I guess he doesn’t understand the concept of an entire album yet. But he will….
Maybe one day I will let Raffi and The Wiggles take a ride in my new vehicle, but I am not promising anything.
